Pancho Costa

Pancho was part of the 2038 Super Draft Class who decided to head to college after San Fernando drafted him at #27 over-all. Twin Cities selected Pancho with the #4 over-all pick and had been eyeing him since the draft class was released.

"Obviously, the two stud starting pitchers would go #1/#2, so we were hopeful that Costa would still be around at #4. He's actually a better fit for the team with his current development than Pedro Bustamante. Pedro would have been great, but the line up is a little light against against Lefty Pitching and Costa has a spot ready... possibly later this season depending on how the season turns out...", commented GM Scott Piccoli. "He's the kind of player we love, a high contact guy who has enough power and speed to get lots of doubles, maybe triples and throw in some home runs. He's extremely similar to the guy we have playing in Right Field..."

That man is possible All Star, Jose Gutierrez, and with him currently playing Right Field, Twin Cities will likely look to have Pedro start getting family with Left Field in the Minors. Though, they're not far apart in their defensive skill sets. Not elite level outfielders, but can get the job done reliably.

Whether or not Pedro will see a BBA field this season is dependent on how Twin Cities is looking in the standings later in the season. If Pedro shows he's ready in the minors and the River Monsters need an offensive boost, then Pedro may be looking at spending some time in Left Field versus Lefty Starting Pitching.

Currently, Lefty Outfielder Onne Heijnen has been hitting the ball well on his side of the platoon against Righties (.286 BA / 7 HR's / .914 OPS) while Pedro Garza has done his part against Lefty Pitching. So there's no rush to bring Pedro up this season if the wheels fall off in the coming months.

However, excitement is high in the Twin Cities to see what this young player can do at the BBA level...

Ugh I have always wondered who I drafted that didn't sign in 2038, because it doesn't show up on the draft history.

True but it actually worked out because the makeup pick the next year was destroyer of baseballs reggie Vargas.
