2040.10 TWC Meet the Future 2042 River Monsters Part 2 (Relievers)

It's been said... and not as a compliment.. that Twin Cities tends to accumulate top end relievers. And over that last couple of seasons, this has definitely been true. What's not been noted, was that the Front Office was able to move some of those highly rated BBA relievers in previous seasons for players currently in the minors. There's something to be said for taking the best player available as opposed to forcing a needed pick. The result has been crop that could result in a Top 5 Relieving core.

RHP Juan Cerda (19) 80
11/7/6
2039 Trade from Nashville (With 3 other prospects) for 3B Joey Newhouse and CL Lorenzo Di'Medici

LHP Angel Gomez (19) 80
7/7/11
2039 Trade from Jacksonville (with 3 other Prospects) for Starter Chris Kelly

RHP Cristo Munoz (18) 80
10/7/5
2040 Draft - Round 1 - 18th Over-all

LHP Juan Valdez (19) 75
8/6/8
2039 Trade from Las Vegas for Lefty Starter Josh Brown

RHP Martin Ross (19) 60
7/8/6
2039 Trade from Nashville (With 3 other prospects) for 3B Joey Newhouse and CL Lorenzo Di'Medici

When he was drafted in 2040, there was discussion of attempting to transition Cristo Munoz to a starter. Juan Valdez has the ability to be a decent starter in pinch, but still appears to be more valuable as a reliever. With so many relievers in the minors, there's the possibility of trading for a top flight position player should the opportunity present itself. With his large selection of average pitches (outside of his change up), the Front Office is mulling a reliever conversion for Martin Ross to get his to focus on having above average pitch to pair with his change up.

The TWC system isn't as talented with position players as pitchers, so maybe there's a chance to upgrade by trading a top prospect reliever.

I love a good, cheap bullpen.

I like my women like I like my bullpens: stacked, cheap and full of LOOGIES.
