2040.03 TWC Former River Monster All-Stars contributing again
3B Chris Limon
.313 BA / .978 OPS
2B/OF Xue-Qin Man
.301 BA / .789 OPS
Chris Limon recently returned to the Twin Cities after the team released him in 2038 with his inflated $16 Mil/salary. Ironically, the team is still paying that salary this season, so why not bring him back at $1 Mil/year... Anyway, he's taken the 3rd Base starting spot from struggling Richard Aragon. Limon earned three Gold Bats at Third Base early in his career with Twin Cities.
Xue-Qin Man is another Scott Piccoli extension mistake, who the team elected not to release, but hold onto, mainly due to his popularity and Team Captian status. Man had an awful 2038 season, but had some success in 2039 in the platoon role. He's been pushed into regular duty so far this season and has been fairly productive so far... though no where near his previous production as Mark Wareham's infield duo.
These two contracts will likely haunt GM Piccoli for awhile, but the end is coming as Man's contract has a Team Option coming soon and Limon's previous contract will go off the books this season. Whether both players are in a River Monster jersey next season is hard to tell. However, the team will likely try to resign Man for a severely discounted price even after the Team Option is executed.
