2037.06 TWC Twin Cities' April Review

Post by Spiccoli » Fri Dec 21, 2018 2:20 pm

The River Monster's finished April with 17 wins and 10 losses and 2nd Place in the Heartland Division. After winning the first 7 series of the season, Twin Cities slipped a bit closing out April, losing series against Atlantic City and Calgary. It's a promising start to 2037, however May last season is where the wheels fell off for the River Monsters, so it'll be critical for the team to continue to perform. There are key members who continue to struggle, while new players have stepped up to take the slack.

1B OF Joey Newhouse
.340 BA /.412 OBP / .990 OPS
Looking to play his first full season, Newhouse was a critical piece of the offense in April. Able to play either corner infield or outfield position, Newhouse spent most of his time at 1B, allowing the team to move Albert Ganoa to DH. Newhouse's success has been enhanced by his success against Lefty pitching.

2B Xue-gin Man
.398 BA /.435 OBP / 1.018 OPS
After the retirement of now Hall of Famer Hunter Eisenhower, Man has stepped up to lead the clubhouse as Team Captain. He's doing most of his leading on the field, both at the plate and in the field with his excellent defense (3.0 ZR / 1.081 EFF).

DH Albert Ganoa
.233 BA / .036 OBP / .711 OPS
After struggling for most of April, Ganoa started warming up in the last week of the month. Including a 2 HR effort against Atlantic City. After initially asking for $11 Million+/year for an extension, Albert's agent has already dropped his demands to around $8 Million per year for 6 years. As it looks now. Either, Ganoa getting hot will be great news for the offense.

3B Chris Limon
.162 BA / .319 OBP / .589 OPS
Unfortunately, for the River Monsters, Chris Limon's struggles appear more of a long term trend downwards instead of a single season hiccup. While not ready to fully bench Chris, Limon will be sharing duties against Righty pitching with Duane Whitney Jr until he can prove he can return to his former self.

I need to look up and see if Joey Newhouse was a creation or relative of former Mounties great Douglas Newhouse.

And I'd appreciate it if you would have a rough May! haha
