Twin Cities is finally closing the book on Alejando Alvarado after his recent 3rd major shoulder injury. The Front Office reported they are waiving Alejandro and will see if he wants a Minor League Contract after the season is over. However, for all practically purposes, his Career as a River Monster big leaguer is over. It was a long shot at a return anyway, but the Team was giving him a shot to see if he could hang around as a Mop Up Long Reliever...

There was a time when Twin Cities fans had visions of a Big Three in the starting rotation... Chris Kelly, Josh Brown and Alvarado. But the baseball gods had other plans.

However, no one is more disappointed than Alvarado himself. After losing almost three seasons due to injury, only for it fall apart yet again. He was visibly shaken and emotional when he was removed from the mound on September 25th while facing Omaha. Alejandro was more than familiar what that pop in his shoulder meant.... and the eventual ramifications.

Known around the Clubhouse as a grinder and hard worker... He can't outwork a shredded shoulder. No amount of rehab, reps, etc... can bring back the lost movement and stuff on his pitches. All he has left is a 100mph fastball... For now.

Time will tell if Alavardo will accept his future in the minors or just decide to hang them up and curse the Baseball Gods.

We've had a few of those, though maybe not add totally devastating. Always hate to see them, though. TWC will still wind up okay.
