LF Ray Cooper
Season - .339 BA, .407 OPB, .980 OPS

7-6 Twin Cities over Yellow Springs (14 innings) - Game Report

It took 14 Innings and 6 hits from Ray Cooper to bring down Yellow Springs in the 2nd game of a 3 game set. Ray was a homerun shy of hitting for the cycle after bashing two doubles and a game tying triple in the 7th Inning. Ray also scored the tying run in the 10th after Yellow Springs went up in the top of the inning.

Third Baseman, Chris Limon, also had a nice game, getting on base 4 times and stealing 3 bases while scoring the walk off run in the 14th.

In BBA History, there's now been 40 players to collect 6+ hits in one game.

38 players (including Ray Cooper) have 6 hits.
1 player - Hall of Famer Duane Whitney had 7 base hits on June 16th, 2002. Coincidentally, Duane is currently a Manager in the Twin Cities Minor League system.
1 player - Clarence "Mad Hits" Diamond and an amazing 8 base hits on September 4, 2022 while playing for Louisville versus Brooklyn.

I know there was talk about Cooper being the most expendable of the Twin Cities young core and that the team should probably move him... but he's really been the heart and soul of the line up for almost 5 seasons. When he went down last season, the team really struggled offensively without him.

It's easy to look at a corner OF prospect and say, eh he's expendable. But with someone of his quality, especially given his intangibles he's really more of a cornerstone than a typical LF'er. It's why CarGo will be a Surfer for life.
