2036.05 TWC River Monster Fans Ecstatic over Wareham/Man Extensions
SS Mark Wareham - Age 27
6 Year Contract Extension - $14 Million per Year (Approx)
4 Gold Bats (SS)
3 All Star Appearances
1 Gold Glove (SS)
2B Xue-qin Man - Age 26
6 Year Contract Extension - $12 Million per Year (Approx)
3 Gold Gloves (2B)
2 All Star Appearances
In a sudden reversal of their previously strict extension negotiation stance, both Mark Wareham and Xue-Qin Man backed way off their previous demands and signed long term term deals that appear to be keeping them as River Monster Dynamic Infield Duo for several more years to come.
As previously reported, Mark Wareham had demand as much as $22Mil/Year and Xue-Qin Man demanded $19Mil/Year. At those numbers, the writing was on the wall and the Team was not going to be able to keep both players. With their current contract extensions, there's a difference of approximately $15 Million available for the Salary Cap.
It's also been rumored that Left Fielder Ray Cooper has also reduced his demands for an extension... the negotiations appear to be ongoing with him at this time, but appear to be in the $12 Million per Year range as well.
With these three key players locked up long term and still having significant room for payroll, the Twin Cities Front Office might start looking to bring in another big name player to try to push the team out of the Wild Card Round.

Hopefully they become the BBA version of Whitaker/Trammell and stay in Twin Cities till they retire.
But if by some chance that doesn't happen, Wareham is more then welcome in Brooklyn.

Nice extensions there. Raider is due for one and I've been tinkering around the last few files at what I might get him at. He's not extremely happy so I have to do it after I export my file so that he doesn't shut down on me all together.
I think I'm going to get him around what you got Wareham at so I'll take that. Nice to see these guys are all asking for something similar.

Re: 2036.05 TWC River Monster Fans Ecstatic over Wareham/Man Extensions
Well, I had been checking them regularly for a season plus. They were asking the most at last season's end. I even posted a poll about Wareham's demands. There were sims were Wareham had asked $24 Million, but he had been mostly around $20-$22 Million. There was one sim where I got him down to $17 million... and I almost pulled the trigger then.7teen wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 8:31 amNice extensions there. I really don't know why all three guys suddenly dropped their asking price. Maybe it's because fan interest is currently maxed, every home game has been sold out so far and the team has had a fast start.
Anyway, if I had not been regularly checking their demands for so long (always after exporting... lol), maybe I wouldn't have realized that their demands had dropped.
On the flip side... I got to see Jayden Harsnett's demands explode last season. In the early going, there was a sim I got him down to $10 Million per year... which is crazy after seeing what he pulled this last off season. But after his fast start last season, he quickly ramped up his demands. I endured years of him underperforming his ratings, hoping would he come out of it. Then in his contract year, he finally comes out of it and it appears he's crushing it for Las Vegas in the early going.

Yeah it's kind of crazy and nerve wracking watching these stars and their demands. I had to do it a lot last year with Mick. I hadn't tracked Raider's until the end of last season and he wouldn't talk at the time due to his mood. I sunk a few PPs into his loyalty. I don't think that change anything but he's at least talking. His demands are the lowest this sim they've been so far so there is a good chance I'll have a Raider extension next sim.Spiccoli wrote: ↑Thu Sep 20, 2018 8:44 amWell, I had been checking them regularly for a season plus. I dropped his demands after my export last sim and after one try he quit talking to me.
