2035.23 TWC Hunter Eisenhower running out of Time for 400 HRS
Hunter "Boogie" Eisenhower
396 Career Homeruns
Hunter started the season 24 homeruns from reaching 400 career homeruns. Based on his past performance, it seemed highly likely he would reach that milestone, barring injury.
It seemed extremely promising in April as Eisenhower bashed 7 homeruns and hit a solid 1.027 OPS. Though he slowed a bit in May, he still hit 5 homeruns and was a solid producer at the plate.
However, June was another matter. Though the Front Office and the Manager refused to comment, it was apparent that Eisenhower already looked wore out. The ball wasn't exploding off his bat as it normally does and his legs looked to be slow. He was even relegated to DH as he didn't have range anymore to play 1st base. It was a tough blow for the former multiple time Third Base Golden Bat winner.
In the almost of three months since the end of May, Hunter has only hit 8 home runs and his average has slumped to .240 from the .300 average he had in April. August has been especially tough for Boogie as he's batting .176 with a .514 OPS and only 1 HR through 21 games.
Currently, Hunter is 4 homeruns away from 400. With just over a month to go and Hunter slumping... Can Eisenhower find something down deep to go on a run to close out the season?
It's obvious his power has faded and he's currently in the middle of cold streak. Manager Juan Williams has to be considering pulling him from the starting lineup... which would seal his fate. When Albert Gaona returns for the last week or so of the season, it's likely Hunter may be benched.
With his fading ratings and Boogie turning 38 next season, this may be his last chance...

I assume he'll hit #400 against us in a game that puts the river monsters into first place.

Nice Idea! I like it!
We have a series coming up in a couple of weeks. I think Twin Cities record against Yellow Spring is fairly atrocious this season though
