2035.20 TWC Chris Kelly Hot after return from the DL
Chris Kelly (8-4 3.08 ERA 1.06 WHIP)
"He's about as sharp as I've ever seen him", comment Manager Juan Williams, "He's been efficient and his control has been excellent."
In the last two weeks since his return from a 4 week stink on the disabled list, Chris Kelly has allowed 6 hits and zero runs over 19 innings... leading to three wins and three POG's. He's been especially stingy with baserunners, producing a 0.56 WHIP over the same time period.
Chris Kelly's return has been critical as the team has been able to cushion it's lead for the 1st Wild Card position to 2 1/2 games over Omaha and stay 5 1/2 game of keeping a Wild Card spot. During Kelly's absence and a tough week with 8 games over 6 days, Twin Cities slipped and was briefly tied with Omaha, however Kelly's return seems to have re-energized the team... Which is easy to do when the starting pitcher is yielding zero runs over 3 games.
The Frick League Wild Card Race remains hotly contested with five teams only separated by 6 games for three spots. Long Beach and Des Moines are also within striking range of the final spot. Furthermore, the River Monsters have managed to hang within a few games of Yellow Springs in the Heartland.
