2035.17 Twin Cities Infield snubbed by Yellow Springs Manager

Although Twin Cities had a strong showing the All Star Voting this year, the River Monsters failed to have a player finish in the top spot in any position for the first time in 4 seasons. However, it was expected that rival Yellow Springs manager, Bret Richards, would most likely select 2 or 3 Twin Cities infielders regardless. Instead, Bret selected none of them and that appears to have raised some eyebrows in the River Monster locker room, to say the least.

Team Veteran, Hunter Eisenhower, elected to speak up for the media after the younger players on the team refused to comment. "Was it deliberate? I'm thinking most likely, we have three excellent infielders in Mark, Gorilla Man and Chris who finished either top 2 or 3 in voting... and to leave all three off the roster seems like a shot across the bow and a lack of respect.... Yeah, I said it."

The lone River Monster position player selected by the Yellow Springs Manager to fill the roster was rookie Catcher Sang Duk Sim... who was also left out of the game until he was brought in the 9th inning as a defensive replacement.

"Wow thanks, Mr Bret Richards, at least we all now know where Twin Cities stands in the Yellow Springs dugout. I see Mr Richards had no problem selecting 4 or 5 Nine players who weren't voted in." Hunter continued...

To say there's a rivalry brewing where previously there's been mutual respect is tough to say. Though it's difficult to have a rivalry when one team has dominated the other for several seasons in both the playoffs and regular season. Twin Cities is hanging close so far this year and has managed to keep Yellow Springs from running away with the division as in season's past. But with Chris Kelly out for another three weeks, that lead may extend over the next month.

Furthermore, Heartland Rival Omaha has been surging in recent weeks and the Twin Cities dugout may start looking in the rearview mirrors more than looking forward if the team doesn't pick up it's performance.

As far as our "surging" goes, I am not sure why but we consistently start our horrible and then pick up play as the year goes on. The past 3 seasons we have been as far as 16-20 games under .500 and then surge back towards .500 by the end of the year.

The old FPS Baseball had rating adjustments each month that were visible... IE - April .98 / May 1.03 / June 1.1... etc. So you would have an idea if a player would start off slow and get hot later or vice versa. They were also the same type of adjustments the game used for various situations like LHP vs RHP or Early Innings vs Late Innings, Close Games vs Blowouts, etc...

I have no doubt that OOTP may have these variables for each player, but are completely hidden, which is better. So maybe you have a several key players with crappy early splits and good ones for later months.

I am just a bit confused on our Pyth record however because we were predicted by the game to win 88 games(I think), however the thing already says I am ahead by 3 and only over .500 by 3 games currently so the pyth record has us at 44-47 and with us predicted to win 88 games must mean we must have a weaker second half schedule.

lol... The game has Twin Cities winning 95 games last season. It's definitely not Vegas run...

Your pyth record is based on runs scored and runs allowed. A +3 means you've won three more games than your runs performance says you should have--meaning, if you believe the pretense of pyth, you've been a bit lucky so far.
