Palin Goes from Blockbuster to Family Video; 2029, V7
After crushing the dreams of the Twin Cities faithful with the trade of Jean-Luc Lecaze, new General Manager Jeff Palin, traded away another fan favorite. Palin has sent Bryan Vogel to Jacksonville for a 19 year old shortstop "prospect" named Carlos Fuentes.
In trading Vogel, the River Monsters have given up a middle infielder with over 400 home runs in his career and a lifetime .729 OPS. Here is what Vogel had to say after finding out about the deal, "You want to know how I found out about the trade? My mommy, er mom, called and told me she heard I had been traded closer to home and wanted to know how I felt about that. I told her I didn't know anything about that and went to bed. I got a text the next morning at 4am from Mr. Palin letting me know I had been traded and telling me how sorry he was to see me go....Seriously, what an ass."
Mr. Vogel was last seen being carried out of Augie's Bourbon Street Cabaret at 3:30am and being shuffled into a car by his best friend on the Twin Cities team, Brett Carter. Mr. Carter did not respond to inquiries regarding the activities of the evening but he did have this to say, "I'm sorry to see Bryan go, but you gotta know when Jeff Palin is a part of team management, you never know what's going to happen. It's best to play it loose and just go with it. He's like a freight train going downhill, so just stay stay out of the way."
Mr. Palin had this to say, "Well...yeah. Traded away a guy that the fans love more than I do; big news I guess. Vogel has had a decent career and it was nice to be able to use him to add a quality prospect like Fuentes. At 19, he's already almost hit his ceiling as far as what scouts suggest his abilities are. We are looking forward to him proving those scouts wrong and showing that those scouts were just a bit too pessimistic. On a side note, it's nice to have a player like Brett Carter on your team. He gets reality and he's a great influence on the youngsters we have on this team. I was very pleased to bring him with me to the Twin Cities from Madrid."
And for those of you that read this far:
My wife just brought home a Cepia Melon for me to eat. It's kinda like a Honeydew Melon, except I think it has much more/better flavor. Pick one up if you can find one.

I'm usually with you there, especially honeydew melons. This one is surprisingly tasty. I may have just gotten a good one, but maybe not.felipe wrote:I dont like melons...tasteless
