2051.14 Minnesota Twins
Minnesota Twins
It's like looking in the friggin mirror
Less than a month into the BBA season and a pair of River Monsters rookie pitchers sit number 2 and number 4 in the BBA in ERA. Officially making them the best 1-2 punch in the league.
At number 4 is Erik Brooks with a 1.73 ERA. One would expect such result from a highly regarded prospect whose starts have been cherry picked and defense prioritized.
Number 2 is a bit of a surprise. 24 year old former waiver claim Muneer bin Khairy is currently the number 2 pitcher in the BBA with 1.42 ERA. Like Brooks, some of bin Khairy's appearances are a bit contrived. He is a guy that will mostly start against lefty heavy lineups or be used as a follower to try to get platoon heavy teams to burn their bench early.
The two rookie pitchers got hazed on a recent road trip where veteran leaders Lucio Cuellar, Wayne Morris, and Logan Niles made the duo dress up like Danny Devito and Arnold Schwarzenegger from the movie "Twins".
When asked about the event, bin Khairy said, "Why do I have to be Danny Devito?". To which Brooks smirked and responded, "C'mon..."
Now before anyone claps at me with the short sample gimmic, I am fully aware that bin Khairy has a better chance of being DFA'd by the all star break than getting one single solitary Nebraska vote at years end. This is just a fluff piece for 2 PP.

How many PP to DFA you as GM? Getting real sick of you. TWC is supposed to be free wins. The sacrificial lamb of the #heartland to make us look good.

Alan just proving that a competitive team can be put together with enough effort. Even with the "unwinnable" situation in Twin Cities.

He was the best antedote for that team.
