Last 10 Games - .391 AVG, 1.092 OPS - 5HR's

When Mark Wareham went on the DL in August, he was in an All-Time Slump. After batting .157 for July, Wareham's batting average had sunk to .195. Before Wareham was able to return, the River Monsters 2 month slide had them sink from 1st Place in the Heartland to out of the Wild Card Picture.

Fans were gripping
Players were unhappy

But, on the horizon was Chris Kelly's return from the DL.. and Mark Wareham casually remarked

"I'm feeling better than I have in a long time..."

Heading into the final week of the season, the River Monsters had reclaimed the 3rd Wild Spot. A lot of it due to Wareham's resurgence as an offensive force.

He finished August at a blistering pace, hitting .326 BA / .426 OB / .991 OPS, which continued through September.

Twin Cities finished the season strong, winning 8 games in a row. The River Monsters passed Madison for the 2nd Wild Card Spot and almost caught Omaha to regain the Heartland Lead.. Finishing one game behind the Hawks.

The 2037 will go down as Mark Wareham's worst season as a full time starter. His streak winning the Charles Puckett Shortstop Golden Bat is going to end at an incredible 5.. with the 6th falling short due to a strong showing from epic youngster, Valencia SS Angel Zalapa, who accumulated an incredible 5.0 WAR through only 127 games...

If Angel can stay healthy, he has the potential to go on a Frick League domination similar to Mark Wareham's 5 year run.

However, River Monster fans are ecstatic to see the old Mark back.
