It was a somber moment November 2nd as pitching coach Juan Paredes announced his retirement after spending the last 8 seasons as the team's pitching coach. Paredes oversaw a Jimmies team that won 3 Monty Brewster championships. "He's been the pitching coach during most of my time. He's just an awesome coach. He's always willing to help out or just talk about life and family. It's going to be really awkward at first when we report for spring training next year.", said Hector Silva.

Some of the other messages that came in after the announcement:
"Best wishes in your retirement. Can't wait to see what to see what happens in the future." Manuel Barrera

"Great coach. Better person. Congratulations on the retirement." Alex Payne

"Ah my friend. I'm going to miss you and the family around the park next season. I wish you the best." Rannal Seldon

"I can't say how much how much coach Paredes has meant to me as a player and a human. I've grown so much under his guidance. I'm going to miss him being around in the future." Allen Davidson

"This is only my second-year coaching with coach Paredes and I'm going to miss him. He always had the pitching staff prepared. He's spent numerous hours studying opponents and relaying his findings with the players. For as good of a coach he was, Juan was an even better person. I've got close to him and his family and it was a blast to see him interact with his grand kids and players during the season. I really hope he enjoys his retirement. It's well deserved." Jimmy Días
