Early Season Thoughts:
It's early in the 2058 season. We currently are in a tie for 2nd place in the division, 4 games back of our hated Poutine loving rivals the Montreal Blazers. Eh!? I feel like it's been a weird start to the season. We've had Bruce 'Saving Grace' Tyler start the year with 6 homers in the opening sim when he had 24 in his previous 285 career BBA games. The Saving Grace has been exactly that with Dave Ackerman missing 36 of the first 38 games Tyler has done a solid job sliding over to 2B. We've had rookie Kevin Maze come up from AAA and do a solid job in his first extended taste of play in the BBA.

Team Record Watch:
It seems only a matter of when and not if veteran closer Manuel Barrera will break the record for career saves currently held by 2058 Wall of Honor inductee CL: Fernando 'Sabertooth' Márquez. Barrera currently sits at 252 saves as a member of the Jimmies, while Márquez holds the record at 257.

I Want You To Want Me
The Jimmies announced their first selection in the 2058 draft last night selecting 17 year old 3B: Shimpei Kobayashi. "We went with Kobayashi because we feel like he could be a solid starting 3B in the future and showed a great makeup in our extensive interviews with him. We're excited to see what the future holds" said assistant GM Chris Bennett. The Jimmies are expected to announce their 2nd round selection later this evening.

Fun fact: When I did my work determining my team’s rival, I also found the most natural rival for each Atlantic Division team.

Montreal and Charm City were each other’s strongest rivals. Through 2057, The Jimmies had won 2 more regular season games than the Blazers in 316 matchups with Montreal owning a +23 run differential. Charm City has also won 4 of their 6 postseason matchups with Montreal outscoring the Jimmies by 10 runs in those games.
