Charm City 2055.3
Note: I’m on my cell phone and will add links when I work the export.
Hey Now You’re An All Star
The 2055 All Star Rosters were announced and the following Jimmies were voted to the All Star team by the fans.
2B: Dave Ackerman was selected to his second straight All Star game. Ackerman has posted a .252/.330/.602/.932 stat line with 26 HR and 54 RBI so far this year. Ackerman also has generated a 9.1 zone rating. He’s also stolen 13 bases this year.
SS: Sammy McNeill was named to his 4th All Star team. Sammy has paired amazingly well with Ackerman to provide us with an elite defense up the middle. He’s provided a 12 ZR at SS so far this year. He’s been very solid with the stick this year as well .316/.394/.387/.781 with a homer and 31RBI. He’s also stole 16 bags.
LF: Tadataka Yoshikawa has been a great addition to our operation since signing as a free agent from San Paolo prior to the 2052 season. He was selected to his second BBA All Star team this year. He’s raked with the bat with a.311/.379/.576/.955 with 21 homers and 59 RBI.
SP: Hector Silva is the #2 guy in the rotation, but arguably our Ace. Silva earned his second all star selection in his second full time season. He’s been great so far this year with 9 wins a 2.96 ERA and a 150 ERA+.
MR: Yoriyuki Ine was a surprise selection. Our lone LHP in the pen. Generally with relief pitchers the closer gets all the glory and accolades. Ine has been so good this year it was difficult for voters to deny him entrance into his first All Star game. He has a 1.85 ERA in 48.2 innings of work with a 0.84 WHIP and 240 ERA+.
MR: Manuel Barrera has 25 saves in 40 games this year was named to his 3rd All Star team. He’s provided us with a 2.47 ERA in 43.2 innings with a 1.03 WHIP and 179 ERA+.
Congratulations to all.

Re: Charm City 2055.3
Impressive. In all my seasons here and all the TNs I have written, I'm yet to ever post one via my cell phone.
I've commented on the board, yes. But never typed a TN.

Re: Charm City 2055.3
I was at the auto shop for a tire alignment so it was either watch Live with Kelly and Mark or bang out a team news.

Re: Charm City 2055.3
I've come to the realization--and this is a gross oversimplification but stay with me--that the biggest thing separating the good teams and the bad teams in the Brewster is the play of their catchers, shortstops, second basemen, and center fielders. There's plenty of platoon corner outfield bats available but I have no realistic way of getting better than replacement-level production at shortstop right now unless I pay an arm and a leg in free agency. Nobody is trading me that guy.
Sammy McNeil is even more valuable to your team than his WAR indicates, which is already a large number. I'm envious, I guess.

Re: Charm City 2055.3
Those are for sure the most important positions, defensively, but the Jimmies up the middle guys can hit, too. That's what separates them.BaseClogger wrote: ↑Fri Jul 07, 2023 1:10 pmI've come to the realization--and this is a gross oversimplification but stay with me--that the biggest thing separating the good teams and the bad teams in the Brewster is the play of their catchers, shortstops, second basemen, and center fielders.
