The Charm City Jimmies have had a very streaky 2050, with three longish streaks over their last 20 games; a losing streak of 8 games, followed by a winning streak of 7 games, followed by their current losing streak of five games and counting.
It leaves them with a 13-17 record as of May 5; a mere 8.5 games behind the Atlantic Division front running Atlantic City Gamblers at 22-9. It also leaves the Jimmies in fourth place and well out of the early playoff prognistications.
Guess we may as well as look as the top performers in April for the Jimmies;
Top batsman for April
Colm Alker
Colm may be the finest player in the MBBA; the sexy English first baseman with the deathly fear of left handers, has hit a slash line of .403/.481/.791/1.272 for April with six homeruns and 19 RBIs.
Top throwing dude in April
Lefty Spitfire Cline won all three of his decisions in April and struck out 24 batters. It looks like the three year, twenty-two year old veteran is finally coming through on the promise he showed as a first round pick back in 2046.
Top Glove for April
Twenty-nine year old keystoner Shawn O'Bagy has a hard time hitting the water when he falls out of his 2039 signing bonus, ( an old leaky canoe...and $370 000); but the dude can play second base reasonably well. He amassed a 1.036 EFF and a 5.11 ZR with no errors in April. Which made him overall slightly better than a hypothetical replacement player.
