For the first time in team history, the Pensacola Jimmies made the FPL playoffs. They made it count as they ran the table and won the FPL.

Riding a 19-9 record to a Panhandle Division Title, the Jimmies beat the Gainesville Nine 3-0 to advance to the FPL Chamionship game to take on the Palm Bay Aviators, the Southeast Division Champs who went 23-5.

In a dramatic game that saw the Jimmies take a 3-2 lead in the top of the 7th after Stephen Cox singled to bring in Ernesto Ramírez, who was standing on 3rd after a RBI triple, the team gave up the tying run in the bottom of the 9th on a Brian Best solo home run. It didn't take long for the Jimmies to take the lead back with León Rodríguez scoring on an error by 2B Daniel Marés. Stephen Goodman came in to close the game on 3 straight ground outs.

The Jimmies boasted one of the top offense in the FPL, scoring 193 runs, good for 4th. They lead the league with 117 extra base hits and were top 5 in most offensive categories. The pitching didn't fair as well, but was middle of the pack in most categories. The bullpen was strong however, 5th in the FPL with a 2.73 ERA. The middling pitching was to be expected. The organization doesn't tend to send prospects with over 100 total innings. Some of their best arms had hit that threshold and were sent home to recover for the next season.

The win points to some of the depth the organization has been putting together over the last couple of years. A couple bats were some of the better prospects, but for the most part, the team sent the guys you wouldn't of heard of. Even the ones you have, they aren't overwhelming talents. This was a solid group of players who still have much to prove to the organization that they are real prospects. With this run, some may have done that this Fall.
