Eliseu Satino signed a 4 year $20,000,000 contract back in December of 2039 with the first 2 years being guaranteed. It looks like he'll be here longer.
Reports have come in that the team and Santino have agreed to a 6 year $48,000,000 extension. The extension guarantees the last 2 years of the original 4 year deal. The next extension comes with a player opt-out after year 4 and team options in year 5 and 6.
The Captain was one of the best hitters in the BBA, finishing 2nd in the JL and BBA with a .357 batting average in his first year in Baltimore. He also managed to play better defense out in LF than expected.
The contract will keep the talented hitter in Charm City through at least his age 32 season.
A press conference to announce the signing is set for noon tomorrow.

As reported yesterday, Eliseua Satino has signed an extension to stay with the Jimmies through 2046 with options by both sides that could keep him around through 2038. The deal also comes with incentives that could, though unconfirmed, push the deal to $10,000,000 per season.
It's an unprecedented extension that reportedly got done quickly. Here are some notes from the press conference.
-GM Brandon Slouck on the initial extension talks:
"It was done quick. We were both very interested in keeping Satino a long time. He's a great ballplayer and a great clubhouse presence. We didn't want to wait on this."
-LF Eliseua Satino on the initial extension talks:
"I definitely want to stay. It felt good to be approached already about this. I told my agent to get it done. Something special happening here and I don't want to leave it.
-Slouck on the offseason lookout:
"Well this was high on our list. Getting Satino here long term. It may not seem like it was a priority but it was for us. We had to keep him. Now that it's been taken care of, we need pitching. Or find a way to get our pitching to improve. We have young arms making their way here but they are at best a year away. So we need some better arms.
-Slouck on free agent talks:
"Well of course we really can't get into that. I've seen the names thrown around in the papers. Really, we are looking everywhere. We've spoken with other GM's about trades. May see something happen. A lot of arms available in free agency so we should be able to make something happen."
-Satino on 2041 outlook:
"Think we be contenders. This past year was only the beginning of things. Lineup should be mostly the same. Definitely going to be better this year."
The press conference wrapped up with a photo session of the GM and captain shaking hands with big smiles on each of their faces. It appears that both sides are truly happy with the extension.

The new contract doesn't over ride the old one. Satino is now on a 9 year contract. Also, I don't give a crap.... but wasn't his first Charm City contract illegal? He signed a four year deal and just now has 5.0 service time. I don't think it should matter cause it was an open market.

Yeah, that original contract was illegal. Not speaking for anyone but me ... I either missed it, or forgot it.

i hadnt thought about the FA piece because most guys with less than 5 years arent worth long term contracts in FA.

Off Topic
One concrete contract rule strictly enforced is that any player with less than 5 years of ML service time will not be allowed to sign a contract extension of longer than 3 seasons. Additionally, any player with less than 5 years of ML service time may not be tendered an extension of longer than 3 seasons. Any contract found violating this rule will be nullified and will have to be renegotiated to fit within this rule. Teams that violate this rule will be penalized $10 million from their Bonus Funds.
