Warehouse Wire 2040.06: 3 All-Stars

With Charm City being one of the best offenses in the league, it seemed like a lock the team would get multiple All-Stars. It turned out to be 3.

It's a mixed bag of players who all are at different points of their careers. We have the Rookie, the Vet, and the Newcomer.

The Rookie is catcher Quinton Lara. The 8th overall pick in the 2037 draft, Lara has been the best catcher in the JL this year and has to be in consideration for Gillstrom. His current batting average of .339 ranks 5th in the JL. He's 2nd in the BBA in OPS by a catcher (0.926) and 1st in WAR (3.0). He's the only starting catcher in the league with qualified AB's to be hitting over .300. The organization expected him to be a solid option right away but nobody expected him to thrust himself into the conversation for the top C in the league by the All-Star game. He's been phenomenal and looks to be holding down the spot for at least the next 5 years.

The Vet is former 2-time Silk winner Carlton Winson. The 37 year old 3B has had himself a Renaissance after a lackluster 2039. 2039 was his worst year after being solid but not up to his lofty contract. He's earning his money this year though. His .651 SLG is 2nd in the JL. His OPS is 3rd in the league at 1.061. Winson is also top 5 in ISO, R/27, and HR. He isn't the defender he once was but he's been good enough to go with his big bat. Year 5 of his 6 year deal is looking to be his best and his continued production has been a big boost to an offense that has been firing on all cylinders the majority of the year.

And finally, Eliseu Satino is the Newcomer. Signed to a 4 year $20,000,000 deal with a player opt-out after year 2 back in December, the team surely has to disappointed in adding the player opt-out as he most certainly looks to be opting out after 2041. Satino is 4th in the league with a .351 batting average. He's also 4th in doubles with 32. He also had a 25 game hitting streak earlier in the year. Just turning 26 in June, he'll have the chance to hit free agency next year at only 27. If he rakes like he has so far, he will be a hot commodity that the team will probably not be able to keep.

At 54-43, the team is still in the division hunt. With the pitching a very big weak point, the offense lead by these 3 will have to continue to bash their way to victories.

Very happy to have been able to vote for Winson. Great feel-good story.

I voted for Alex Ramirez and I don't regret it. But yes, nice to see Winson's comeback.

Not so nice to see Satino's ratings bump and hit like an All-Star after his short stint as a Spud last year. #bitterboisetableforone
