Warehouse Wire 2037.03: Bureaucracy

Reports from the warehouse indicate a high ranking official in the Charm City front office has been fired over not sending the proper paper work to the league office on multiple transactions.

While it is not known what Hermes Conrad's official job title was, he is grade 36 Bureaucrat. From the information we have gathered, he was in charge of submitting offers to the agents and league office. That did not happen.

As a result, the Jimmies lost out on multiple international amateur free agents and BBA free agents. While our sources seem to be hush on who, indications seemed to indicate the team a strong offers on a BBA level CF and a couple of good prospects in the 2037 international amateur free agent class.

"It's an internal matter," said GM Brandon Slouck with a scowl. "We trusted him with a big responsibility. He's usually on top of it. Not sure what happened but it was time. We can't have that right now."

After the GM took measures to have the budget pushed and have cash as back up to bolster the organization talent level, sources have told the owner was not happy and immediately cut the team's budget. While we haven't been able to confirm the number, we keep hearing it's somewhere in the $8,000,000 to $12,000,000 range.

This could set back the organization some. The pool of ML players has shrunk. The team still doesn't about half their 27 man roster filled out. The bullpen is the only thing that is really set. The rotation could use an arm or two but the lineup is bare. And missing out on the first round of IFA's hurts the long term outlook. The organization has made sure all I's have been dotted and all T's have been crossed. We are hearing they have sent the paperwork on multiple players, multiple times.

The opinion from this reporter seems to indicate this won't happen again.
