Warehouse Wire 2037.01: Quiet in Charm City

Post by bcslouck » Mon Nov 26, 2018 8:35 am

Despite having plenty of holes on the ML team, the Jimmies front office has been pretty quiet.

Rumors of them having multiple offers out for some free agents have floated around, but none have included some of the big name guys. Chances are Crash LaLoosh will not be the Opening Day starter for Charm City. Lucas McNeill won't be bringing his middle of the order bat and high profile lifestyle to Baltimore either. And aging veteran captain Elroy Hinson won't even talk to the team per reports. If the team makes a splash, it'll because the offseason didn't go the way the player wanted it to.

And so, the Jimmies are looking to sign solid players to help boost an abysmal 2036 win total. It really won't take much for them to be better in 2037. The team could conceivably be in on just about anyone that is a league average player, give or take some. Focus seems to be on getting solid defenders to help out the pitchers this year. Rumors do suggest they would like to add another power bat or two. Starting pitching is also something they could add. Again, just about anyone worth anything in the BBA would be useful.

If the bullpen can stat healthy this season, it could be a strength. Chances are if the rotation can get through 6 innings, maybe even 5, the team could have the arms to hang on to games. But with the current rotation and potential lack of offensive punch, that could be a trying task this season.

But all is still fairly quiet. The rebuild continues on.
