Warehouse Wire 2036.02: He gone
Word from the warehouse is that the club has decided to let long time manager Celes Palacios go.
Given the direction the organization is heading and Palacios only signed through 2036, the organization thought it'd be better to go in a different direction and instead of letting him manage on a lame duck contract, let him go to pursue another opportunity in baseball.
"We wish Celes the best," said GM Brandon Slouck on a conference call with the media. "He is a hell of a manager who lead this team to success quickly. Given his contract situation and our organizational changes, it just seemed like the best time for both parties to let him go. We thank him for his time here."
Players reportedly were not happy about the move.
"He was a real players manager, a real leader and mentor to so many of the guys on this club," said one player anonymously. Another was quoted as saying "I know baseball is a business, but Celes deserved better. This ain't right."
Charm City was his first shot at managing and he was an integral part of taking the franchise to another level. The team made the playoffs 4 out of his 6 years in Baltimore, which included a trip to the Landis in 2032. He was also Manager of the Year in 2032. Overall, the team won 519 games while losing 455. One can only assume any team who thinks they are ready to make that next step will give him a call.
When reaching out to Palacios, he declined to comment at this time.

I'd let my manager go if it wouldn't cost me so much extra money to fire his ass.

Only quoting you to call out the little trophy for your Landis win's under your forum picture. If it's been up since the new forum, I just noticed it.

Yeah we noticed these yesterday. Recte added them. WE had a little chuckle at Ron and Joe's expense over Ron's lack of one and how Joe's are missing but has a post-season round named for him in the sim complete thread.

Now that you have that, can we replace the round named after you with my last name? Slouck Round.. 2nd though, it doesn't have the ring. You can have that too, I guess.scottsdale_joe wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 11:08 amOops, my yellow thingie with a 2 appeared!
