2034.10 - First to 100

Post by bcslouck » Sun May 06, 2018 4:16 pm

For the first time in Charm City's short history, the team has will end the season with at least 100 wins. While in most years, that would mean you win your division, this year may not be the case.

The Jimmies are in a virtual tie with Jacksonville, having won and lost one more game than the Hurricanes. The Jimmies has torn through the last month or so to get back into division contention and to assert themselves as one of the Landis favorites for this year, along with a very good Jacksonville team. Barring some sort of epic collapse on the part of the 'canes, they will win at least 100 games as well. Unfortunately one of these two teams will be relegated to having to play the #4 wildcard team, which as of this writing is Las Vegas. However, Montreal is still in contention for that final spot, only 3 games back.

When looking around the league, the chances of another 100 win team are possible, but slim. Before the BBA expands and realigns, the JLA is proving to be one of the better divisions in the league, between having two 100 win teams, a very good and young Rockville team, and Montreal storming back after a dreadful start to have a chance at the least wildcard.

The 'canes do have an easier finish to their schedule, facing Havana for a doubleheader and finishing the season with a split 8 game series with San Antonio. The Jimmies do get to stay home, but welcome Rockville and New Orleans, two playoff locks, and finishing the season with an always tough Brooklyn team.

This next week promises to be one of the most dramatic finishes to a season in JLA history.
