Jimmies keeping pace
Not many people would of predicted CCJ to be 41-26 on June 16th. But here they sit. Currently on a 6 game win streak, the team is only 2.5 games behind the defending champs. They site tied for the #1 Wild Card spot with Atlantic City, both teams being 4 games up. After wrapping up the home set with 3 games versus Brooklyn, the Jimmies head down I-95 for a 4 game set with in state rival Rockville, who sits 1.5 games behind the Jimmies.
POWER
The Jimmies success has been on the back of the lineups power. As of this writing, they lead the league with 125 HR's, 9 up on Jacksonville, who is 2nd in that category. They are currently on pace to hit 302 HR's. While they may be hard to keep up, the team will surely need the HR's to keep coming to stay in the playoff picture. Carlton Winson is currently the league leader with 29.
Minor Injuries
While the Jimmies have avoided major injuries since the season began, the team has been hit recently with some minor one to major players. Paul Backstrom, who was off to a fantastic start in Charm City, went down for 3-4 weeks with a separated should at the beginning of the month. He'll probably be back after the All-Star break.
Alfredo Salazar has now hit the DL with an intercostal strain, though he should be back next week. This is especially disappointing considering he was finally starting to come around with the bat. After a .732 OPS in April and .681 OPS in May, he mashed his way to a 1.474 OPS through his first 11 games in June. His health and bat will be a key to keeping the Jimmies offense more balanced.
Wilmot Schlöndorff has been experiencing some wrist soreness and will be benched for a few days. While he has managed to pitch through it, the team wants him to get some rest.

Re: 2034.05 - Odds and Ends
The Backstrom deal was huge. Forget about the money end and just look at the player. There might not have been a better fit out there. It gave Charm City 2 elite bats vs LHP and 2 VS RHP. Going R/L/R/L makes teams burn half their bullpen once through the order.

17-2 in June and I feel like we're barely any better off than we were 4 weeks ago (probably because CC is 13-5 in June)

Re: 2034.05 - Odds and Ends
Winson may even top last year. Man I wish I had him hitting for me. Dominant HR hitter in the league and going to have one of the best 4 year stretches in league history.

I bugged Sean constantly about Winson. Just never had the bullets to land him in a trade.
