2032.12 - Jimmies look to dethrone Jacksonville

The best season in Charm City's short history saw them win the JLA and take the division crown from the Hurricanes. The Jimmies look to now prevent the defending Landis Memorial Champions from repeating, in the Jimmies own campaign toward securing their first championship.
Around the locker room, the players have talked of destiny and how it only seems fitting to have to go through the defending champs.
"Confident," said closer Wilmot Schlöndorff when asked what the feeling around the locker room was. "We wouldn't any other way. It feels right. It just makes sense that if we want the crown, we have to slay the beast. We took the division crown from them, but we want more. We aren't taking them lightly. It's an explosive offense that we have to try and tame. And I think we are up to the challenge."
"We aren't looking past anyone," remarked star Alfredo Salazar. "We have to take it one series at a time. Jacksonville is here for a reason. We just have to play our game."
When asked about how the younger players were handling the success and pressure, Salazar commented "they are handling it well" and "they are approaching it like any other game."
"I think the veterans have done a good job keeping them in check," said Salazar. "Just reminding them to not overthink things and enjoy the ride. You never know when you'll be back in this position."
The Jimmies won the season series 7-6 over Jacksonville, but had a -5 run differential. It should be a tight series between the two JLA members, probably going at least 6 games. Charm City knows they have a tall task ahead.
The winner of this series will go on to face the winner of the Las Vegas-Atlantic City series in the Cartright Cup to determine who will be the Johnson League Champions and represent the league in the Landis Memorial Series.
