With 4 to go in the regular season, the up and down, but never too much in either direction, Jimmies still have an outside chance to sneak in as the last Wildcard (WC) team.

The team has managed to win 8 of their last 10, which includes a 6 game winning streak and a 4 game split with Las Vegas on the road. Now 14-12 in August, this stretch has brought the team back to .500 at 79-79 and only 2.5 games out of the last spot.

While that sounds like a real long shot, the schedule has set up where virtually all the WC teams the Jimmies play either each other or division leaders.

Before even mention the other teams, Charm City needs to take care of our own business. Our last 4 games are against WC #4 New Orleans, on the road. They will have to win at least 3 of those games to tie it up with them, but a sweep would be ideal considering the other teams involved. CCJ took 3 of 4 from them back in June in Baltimore. The first 3 games of the series were 2 run games before CCJ blew them out 13-3 in game 4.

Hawaii, who's just outside of the WC spot and 1.5 games up on CCJ, has one game left against Jacksonville before heading to Huntsville for 4 games. They have a combined 0.438 win percentage against these teams, which would be at least 2 games if that held true and put them at 82-77.

While a long shot, the team is still fighting to be the first of the 2029 expansion teams to earn a playoff berth. The way things are shaking out, there could be a 2 way or even 3 way tie for that last spot.

Thanks, but I'm not too happy about it. Was expecting a little better. Offense hasn't been as good and the pitching somehow got worse.
