Retirement:
Shortly after being eliminated from the Monty Brewster Finals Jimmies manager Jimmy Días announced his retirement. "I'd like to say thank you to the Charm City organization. The last 4 years as the manager of the Jimmies has been amazing. I'd like to thank my family for allowing me to be away during the summer for the past 24 years while I was living my baseball dreams. I'd like to thank the Madison Wolves franchise for giving me my start with Burlington 24 long years ago. I'd like to thank the players and coaches who made my job quite easy the last four seasons in Charm City and my life entertaining these past two and a half decades. Finally I'd like to thank the fans for all of their support" said Días at the press conference. Días finished his BBA career with a 402-246 record as manager for the Jimmies.
Trade Alert:
The Jimmies announced they acquired 3B Jose Reyes and minor league pitcher Yushua Ka'im from San Fernando in exchange for reliever Augusto Gonzalez and CF Dallas Sly.
With this trade I believe we strengthened our offense at 3B. He should be an improvement offensively over incumbent Ayyad Faisal. The downside is that this acquisition hurts our defense at 3B. I'm expecting to use Faisal as our backup SS. With the injury risks with Ackerman we can always use someone who can provide plus defense and not embarrass themself on the bench. I won't lie I was considering non tending Sly because we used his final option year this season and I didn't feel he would beat out Mario Romero as our backup CF. Losing Gonzalez hurts because of his age and the positive development that we've seen out of him, but I feel like it's easier acquiring relief pitchers than it is starting 3B at the moment.
Options:
We have announced that we are not picking up the team option on Patrick Rosales. It was an easy decision because while I like the career he's had, he's also been a consistent visitor to the injured reserve. Rosales since being acquired at the deadline in 2061 has appeared in just 44 games.
Unfortunately Bryce Sparks didn't reach his vesting option for the 2064 season and will reach free agency. Sparks was one of the best free agent pickups I've made in recent seasons. Sad to see him go, but also have to realize that his stuff took a step back this past season.
Post Season:
I'm disappointed that we lost to Nashville in the Monty Brewster Championship. I honestly didn't think the team would get that far. I felt like the offense lacked the fire power to get the team that far. The pitching staff I had a feeling was going to be very good in 2063 and I feel it will be good again in 2064. Hopefully we'll be able to make a couple moves to shore up the offense and win the championship next season. All in all it was a good season and we made money thanks to the deep run.

You’re a magician with bullpens so I think you’ll be just fine there. I seem to collect third basemen.
I can’t believe Sly wouldn’t have a trade market. He’s still gonna be cheap and a good glove. Guys like that were traded at the deadline (see Reyes, your pickup).

I think you have a good shot at repeating as Johnson League Champion.
The move you made looks like my favorite kind of trade, a win win type. Both of you got something you needed by shedding from an area of strength.
