Charm City 2060.7 - Jimmies promote Rodriguez

The Charm City Jimmies today announced the promotion of top hitting prospect Ramón Rodríguez from AAA Annapolis today. Rodríguez was doing quite well in AAA posting a .322/.381/.623/1.004 slash line with 35 HR and 99 RBI in 100 games in AAA so far this season. "Our goal was to get Rodríguez ready for the big leagues. We felt like his bat could've probably played with us from the start of the season, but we wanted to get him some at bats in the upper minors as he was in A ball last year. We also wanted to see him polish off his defense in AAA. We felt like he'll be an asset for us both offensively and defensively" said assistant GM Chris Bennett.

Rodriguez came to Charm City as part of the Sammy 'Bumper' McNeill trade from 2058.

To make room for the promotion the Jimmies demoted utility man Enver Kusçu. Also it was announced that George McCoy will shift to first base with Jules Le Gal going to the bench vs RHP. It's a big blow to Le Gal who is a free agent at season's end. It's also seen internally as a test session to see if McCoy can handle 1B defensively. Charm City staff have been thrilled with the offense that McCoy has provided in the DH and LF roles. It's expected that Kusçu will be back when rosters expand in September if not sooner as management has been very happy with his performance.

Oof, if Nava pans out that trade looks horrible for me. Rodriguez has done some nice bumping to distinguish himself.
