Today the Austin Shredders announced that they will be handing out a Hitter and Pitcher of the Year Award.

Luis Gallo

The Hitter of the Year Award will be known as the Luis Gallo Minor League Hitter of the Year Award. Named after OF Luis Manuel Gallo who belted 223 homeruns between AA and AAA from 2047 to 2057. The award will go to the hitter who displays the most progress at the plate and in the field and exemplifies the character and qualities (as yet to be defined. So far we have "Suck less than the other guys" and "Didn't get caught committing a felony" and "She sure looked 18".

Peter Sanders

The Minor League Pitcher of the Year Award will be known as the Pete Sanders Pitcher of the Year Award. Named after Peter Sanders, a reliever who saved 69 games for the AA and AAA affiliates of the then Edmonton Jackets. The award will go to the pitcher who displays the most progress on the mound and exemplifies the character and qualities (as yet to be defined. So far we have "Should I buzz one AT his head or BEHIND his head?" and "Let me make a call. I can get you a clean piss test" and "She sure looked 18".

The 2061 Luis Gallo Minor League Hitter of the Year Award goes to:

Felix Cabral

Cabral was a 7th round pick in this years draft and quickly shot up the ladder hitting a combined .356 with 13 HR and 59 RBI in just 83 games. Cabral moved up the ladder so quickly that he even made his BBA debut in his debut season, batting .337 with 4 HR and 19 RBI. Cabral is expected to compete for the starting 2B job next year and will also fill in occasionally at 1B.

Qian-fu Zhuan

The 2061 Pete Sanders Pitcher of the Year Award goes to Qian fu Zhuan. Bouncing between LaPaz (SA) Charlesbourg (A) and Odessa (AAA) Zhuan excelled wherever he went. Over 85 innings Zhuan notched a meager 1.16 ERA and a 0.89 WHIP. The 24 year old could make it to AAA next year with an outside chance of seeing some BBA time.

Given the data about 3B that @Lane did, he looks like a 3B over 2B to me.

He honestly lacks the range to be a true 2B and lacks the arm to be a true 3B.

I agree on the arm but with the data @Lane had basically saying 3B defense doesn't matter, he would be fine as long as he hits.

He should hit the d-lab for defense either way.
