Southpaws! (Hoppy Endings, Sim 10) [PP:2052.17]

While looking ahead to next week's schedule, acting General Manager Nazih Bin Amid found this little surprise:

This prompted a few roster changes, but Amid resisted the temptation to do anything too rash with the 31-33 Jackrabbits.

"You can't over-correct based upon a surge of starting left-handed pitching. This too shall pass. You can't banish a stud lefty hitter like Matt Garrison to the bench because of pitching matchups. He's a key part of our lineup and is leading the team with 20 homers. We can't do it without him. I'm sure there will be plenty of right handed starters as we progress through the rest of the season."

"Regarding some other moves: OF Jose Salas will be out at least a month with back problems. We brought up OF Kane Gregson from AAA to fill in. Gregson has been playing well in AAA and gave us good production in the majors last year and can be trusted, though it's hard to replace Salas' incredible contact hitting. Starting SS Jose Montano has knee tendinitis and we opted to put him on the IL and let him heal instead of straining it further on the basepaths. Filling in for him will be two young new infielders in Jing-Shuan Xun and Ghassan Abdul-Rahim. Lefty OF Vaughn Thomas has been struggling and not getting much playing time so we waived him as well."

"On the pitching front, our new waiver wire acquisition RP Manuel Dominguez has struggled greatly with his control. We're waiving him and bringing up promising youngster Barney Smith who has been incredible in AA with a 1.57 ERA and 13 saves. Smith is likely to become a fixture for years to come."

"We're hoping these moves will help us survive as a middle-of-the-pack team in the Johnson. Waiving the white flag because of Mexico City's lefties isn't an option."

Hard to argue with Smith's K/BB rates in the minors despite being so young. Think you've got a nice little reliever there.

Probably right to keep on taking a look. I’m trying to keep competing by scouring the pool of available players.
