Yesterday, the Edmonton Jackrabbits agreed to terms with GBC Jerusalem star 1B Dylan "Dimples" Malloch. Continuing on his quest to add some reliable power hitting to the lineup, GM Mike Bauer is hoping Malloch's slugging will transition, and perhaps even improve, in the BBA. Dylan has a career .829 OPS and has experienced somewhat sporadic playing time in Jerusalem, due to a combination of injuries and manager choice. Still, he made two GBC All-Star teams and earned a 2047 GBC ROTY award in his five years with the Hebrew Hammers.
Off the field, the British-born Malloch is a popular ladies' man and heartthrob on social media. He's a good friend of the British royal family. His chiseled good looks and popularity made him very famous among the Pharaoh's Daughters in Jerusalem. It was only a matter of time before Dylan met a Pharoah's Daughter to call his own. Like a hanging curveball over the middle of the plate, Malloch hit a home run with Daughters' member Mina "Emjay" Joseph. The young power couple recently hosted an incredible wedding ceremony with thousands in attendance and little expense spared.
The newlyweds intend to settle down in Edmonton and start a family. Based on Mina's recent series of Jackrabbits-inspired Instagram posts, it doesn't seem like that pursuit will be much of a problem for the duo.
After meeting with Malloch, Bauer was impressed by the 26-year old's work ethic and attitude. "Dylan lights up a room. He's a very charming young man. But beyond that exterior lies a good work ethic and a strong desire to win and get better. He's a former 7th round pick who defied the odds. His fame with Mina will also draw a lot of younger fans and ladies to the ballpark, which we're certainly looking to do."
Malloch signed for $22.2 million over 4 years, and BBA expert Lem Piker Sr. has mixed feelings about the deal.
"It's obvious that Edmonton signed Malloch primarily for the fan interest. They overpaid for a guy in the GBC who was a lesser star and not all that dominant. He's also limited to fielding first base, which he does pretty well. But selling tickets is important, and I guess the Jackrabbits wanted to make sure to get their guy. We'll see if it pays off. Malloch does have minor league options remaining if he struggles in the BBA. But sending him down to AAA might depress the fans. It's a risk."

Mina is gonna drain that power to 5. Contract language should stipulate, "No sex on game days."
