Edmonton, by all accounts, is not expecting too much team-wise. But meanwhile, there are some guys on the roster who will still provide some production. This feature will look back on the previous week and identify some standout performances.
JACKS OF THE SIM - SIM #16
Edmonton turned in another 2-win Sim finishing up a series vs Charlotte with a loss, taking 1 from a 4-game set @ Montreal, and splitting the first two games of a 3-game series at home vs San Antonio. The team is struggling both producing and stopping runs.
Pitcher
P António Gonzáles
24 G, 16 GS, 4-5, 4.50 ERA, 1.50 WHIP, +0.4 WAR
Gonzáles finally gets another nod with 2 quality starts over Sim #16. At home vs. Charlotte the lefty tossed 6 innings of 1-run ball allowing 7 hits and walking 4. He took the mound again on the 17th @ Montreal an allowed just 2 runs in 6 innings of work allowing only 4 hits and fanning 5.
Batter
SS Dusty Crouch
53 G, 4 2B, 4 HR, 10 RBI, .117/.167/.242, -1.3 WAR
Crouch is clearly on the roster for his defense, but in this Sim though he still had an abysmal .217/.296/.522, he popped 2 HRs and 6 RBI. It's great to get that kind of production from a place you don't expect.
