Brauers Finally Get on Roll

It took a few months, but the Munchen Brauers finally hit their stride.

Winners of 11 of their last 15 games, the high-priced Brauers have finally started living up to expectations. The streak moved them to eight games over five-hundred, and a four and a half game lead over Rome.

Led by the best pitching staff in the EBA (in virtually all categories), both the starting rotation and the bullpen have been pitching in (pun intended). Starters Flobert Rijerkerk and Michel Rollet each share the team lead with seven wins, and each have an ERA around 3.30. Relievers Mauro Larios, Jose Figueroa, Jose Figueroa have been nearly unhittable, as has closer David van Dongen, who sports a 0.72 ERA with 25 saves.

The offense has been solid, although has not yet shown its full potential. RF Florent Guegan leads the team with 8 home runs, and Arnim Konrad leads in batting average with a .349 mark. Third baseman Brad Bensted has struggled this season, but has started to show signs of improvement during their recent run.

In other news, the EBA draft has come and gone, with not much enthusiasm from the front office. The extremely weak player pool likely means that very few of the Munchen's picks will get signed, which will hopefully set them up for a strong draft class next season.
