September 2021, A Look Around the EBA

Post by recte44 » Thu Jun 25, 2015 9:27 pm

- You better believe that MBBA scouts have their eye on Amsterdam right fielder Berend Velthorst (6/7/8/8/6 Ratings) . This slugger has been atop EBA leaderboards for the past few seasons and seems poised to make the jump to North America in 2022.

- In his first full season in the EBA, London catcher Jeremy Cirolli (7/7/5/4/9 Ratings) is the leader in batting, OBP, OPS and WAR. He's three seasons away from being Rule 6 eligible.

- In his second year in the EBA, Brussels left fielder Alfredo Salazar has really made a leap after an uneven rookie year in 2020. He's one to keep an eye on, and just 20 years old.

- Many thought Munchen outfielder Kyle Stanley (5/5/9/4/3 Ratings) would be a perfect fit in the EBA when he jumped here in 2019, and he's been just that, hitting over 110 homers in three years.

- Remember Andrew Chesley (6/6/6 Ratings) ? The former Las Vegas #1 pick is leading the EBA in losses with 17.

- Munchen's Sebastien Durand (7/7/6 Ratings) has been the EBA pitching leader in WAR this year, and he'll be an interesting name to watch in the Rule 6 Draft this fall.

- The EBA was made for guys like Jaime de Castillo . He was a veteran of seven minor league seasons when he jumped to the EBA four years ago, and has reinvented himself as an EBA closer, leading the league with 35 thus far this year.

- Belfast's Lienhard Zieff (7/7/6 Ratings) will be four year eligible this offseason, and he's the EBA leader in strikeouts.

- More former MBBA names across the leaderboard include: Edison Elliott (5/6/5/10/9 Ratings) , Cecil Bradley (6/5/8/3/3 Ratings) , Carlin Adie (5/7/8/9/7 Ratings) , Skookum Mason (6/8/7/7/4 Ratings) , Alfred Brouthers (5/6/8/5/4 Ratings) , Jose Cardoza (6/6/5/7/4 Ratings) , Jack Hassane (5/7/6/7/4 Ratings) , Jim Hill (6/6/5/2/4 Ratings) , Joseph Mohan (5/5/3/6/8 Ratings) , Larry Morgan (9/6/4 Ratings) , Bob Latrobe (6/5/10 Ratings) , Darryl Robinson (7/7/5 Ratings) , Shawn Abrams (7/7/6 Ratings) , Woody Powell (6/5/8 Ratings) , Cecil Ware (5/8/6 Ratings) , Steve Gould (7/6/6 Ratings) , Ian Stroud (6/7/5 Ratings) . Fun to catch up with some of these guys.

Yeah Latrobe is having a good year. Adie's team leads the EBA in homers but is sixth in runs

FYI Tim (or whomever gets first pick) - the poison pill contract I'm going to offer Velthorst is going to be offensive.

I plan on finally taking advantage of this draft this year. It will be a first for me. I HAVE TO REMEMBER IT!
