The BBC has retracted its previous statement regarding the new EBA and potential team owners.

"Our announcement concerning the Belfast team was based on reports from a Rupert Murdoch owned news group. It has since been brought to our attention that the information was gathered through a wiretapped phone, owned by one Upton O'Goode. The call he received this morning was based on a prank call made by a friend of his in Hawaii, and we reported it as fact. Furthermore, even Mr. O'Goode didn't know he had been pranked until his plane landed at the Belfast International Airport."

When asked for a comment, Mr. O'Goode had this to say. "Oh ha, that was a good one. I needed a vacation anyway, and this seems like a lovely city. I won't take anymore flights until the REAL commish makes an announcement. Where's the nearest pub?"

I didn't mean to overstep any boundaries there, I just saw the team listed along with the GM name, and I went with it.

Belfast is fine by me though, if that's what you are asking. I was already brushing up on the city and it's history.

And let me know if I jumped the gun. I was just a little excited, that's all.

Well, Upton does wake up with a new girl every morning. Of course he doesn't go to bed with them, so no one knows how they end up there. Walk into the wrong motel room I suspect.

Belfast is a great City, went their on a football tour once. The girls are very friendly. Can't remember what the hotel rooms were like, too pissed...
