Masakado Matsunaga has been a consistent threat, hitting a strong .423 against Hawaii.

Carl McLeod has consistently found his way on base, sporting a .421 batting average and .421 OBP.

Júlio Pérez has also been a significant offensive contributor with 3 home runs in the 8 games.

Strongest Pitchers: While their overall pitching stats are mid-ranked, Garth Dobbs has a strong 2.88 ERA overall.

Projected Starters:

Game 1: Garth Dobbs (15-10 2.88 ERA) | 0-2 5.84 ERA vs HAW in 12.1IP

Game 2: Alonso Amaya (12-8 5.32 ERA) | 1-1 7.94 ERA vs HAW in 11.1IP

Game 3: Micah Harrington (8-18 4.39 ERA) | (Acquired from NO) no stats vs HAW

Game 4: Ken Haworth (3-2 4.14 ERA) | 0-0 3.38 ERA vs HAW in 5.1IP

Game 5: Garth Dobbs

X-Factor: The Kernels' offense has the potential to explode. If these hitters can consistently produce against tough Tropics pitching, it could significantly shift the series in Des Moines' favor.

Hawaii Tropics

The Hawaii Tropics concluded the regular season with a 94-69 record, securing second place. They were particularly dominant at home, amassing an impressive 53-28 record. Their road record was a respectable 41-41. The Tropics' offense has also been strong, scoring 794 runs (4th in the league), and their pitching staff has been slightly stingier than the Kernels', allowing 670 runs (6th in the league).

Key Hitters:

Jorge Dodd is hitting a strong .400 against the Kernels.

Carlos Sánchez has demonstrated his ability to change the game with one swing, also tallying 3 home runs.

Vincente Méndez has showcased his ability to get hits, with 11 hits.

Strongest Pitchers: Nieglosław Woywitka has been a standout against the Kernels with a 2-0 record and a 2.92 ERA in those matchups.

Projected Starters:

Game 1: Nieglosław Woywitka (16-6 3.44 ERA) | 2-0 2.29 ERA vs DM in 12.1 IP

Game 2: Semih Gurâni (12-9 3.55 ERA) | 1-1 8.22 ERA vs DM in 7.2 IP

Game 3: Reynaldo Trinidad (6-3 5.43 ERA) | 1-1 vs DM in 1.1IP

Game 4: Gerardo Rea (4-14 5.41 ERA) | 0-0 vs DM in 5.2IP

Game 5: Nieglosław Woywitka

X-Factor: Nieglosław Woywitka's performance in this series could be the deciding factor. He has already demonstrated success against the Kernels, and if he can maintain that level of dominance, the Tropics will be in a strong position to win.

Prediction

The Tropics enter this series with a slight advantage, having demonstrated greater success against the Kernels during the regular season. However, the Kernels' explosive offense is always a threat to overturn any predictions. The effectiveness of each team's key hitters and the performance of their starting pitchers will be critical factors in determining the series' outcome. Can Woywitka pitch on 3 days rest?! Tropics in 4!

You almost nailed the Tropics mascot, but I think he’s supposed to be upside down.

Most think it’s the pitching and fielding to worry about in Hawaii, but it’s really the swingers you gotta look out for.
