2044 FINISH: 79-83, 3RD(-17)
The Mumbai Metro Stars implemented the same strategy as the Impalers when it came to 2044 draftees. They pretty much sent the top guys to the majors and the results were mixed. The fourth overall pick P Gennady Zachinsky pitched well posting a 3.26 ERA in 107 plus innings before tearing his UCL in September. Their second rounder, closer Knox Sked became one of the best stoppers in the UMEBA posting a 1.89 ERA in his 52.1 innings. Third round pick Ronald Eglinton had an ERA over 5.16 but the team expects him to fair much better in 2045 having a full offseason to prepare.
To make up for the loss of their potential ace the Stars made a trade to bring in veteran Maxim Makin from Manama. Makin brings with him a 3.4 WAR from last season when the 34 year old was 12-6 in his 32 starts.
The offense should be pretty good returning masher Frank Mahaffey and his 47 homers and 113 RBI. Also returning is slugging catcher Dan Clapper(27 HR, 79 RBI) and 3B Sancho Castillo(.341 BA, 114 RS, 5.2 WAR). Before the season is over you may see sixth round pick Ron Kennerly who hit 15 bombs at AA last season.
I think Mumbai improves enough to pass Tripoli in the standings but not by much. I'm giving Mumbai 82 wins in 2045.

Re: Mumbai Metro Stars 2045 Preview
Just saw this. A fair estimation and good call on Kennerly. Have to decide where to play him. I don't know if I can live with that 3 catcher ability.
