This season when you come to the ball park you need to spend 8 US dollars on a program to know who’s at first base. With all the moves Brett Schroder made at the end of last season’s trade deadline and during this off season there will be a lot of new faces for the fans to get to know.
Eleven new players were added. Noteworthy additions include: Pitchers Tony Canales in AAA and Mohammed Gabriel from Calgary Marauders; William McIntyre from Tucson Cactus; and Pedro Gomez and Chester Kipling from Las Vegas Hustlers; 1B Pedro Burgos and left fielder Emory Sharp Yellow Spring Nine, along with the signing of free agent 3B Mark Webber.
The Vancouver Mounties lost 13 players. Some of the players that the fans will miss most are pitchers Ace Young, Rob Miller, and Armando Morales along with outfielder Bill Burkholder Jr. were traded to Calgary Marauders; RFDaniel Labrie, Jr.,and 2B Edward Allen were a deadline trade to Tucson Cactus. Mounties also lost Francisco Ortiz under the rule 5 draft and P Andrew Lewis, Stuart Pearce and SS Oggy Ogelthorpe who all became free agents.
Out Field
The pasture is cover by three fine outfielders that offer both speed and range to the team. RF Alejandro Rivera, LFEmory Sharp and CF Eddie Yates Emory is a free swinging fielder with a 174 strike outs, 19 walks while hitting only .204 with good range. This may be the year that Eddie makes the team starting lineup, last season he played in 53 games with a batting average of .295, OPS of .707. Alejandro played in the minors last season hitting .288. He stole 29 bases and was caught 11 times. Mounties will not see many balls dropping in the outfield as these players have great range to run down just about everything.
Infield
The right side of the infield is solid with power; at first base is Pedro Burgos and second baseman Roberto Dominguez has excellent range. Pedro came to the Mounties in an off season trade with Yellow Spring Nine where he hit 25 home runs struck out only 56 times and earned 53walks. Vancouver is looking for Roberto to figure out ML pitching as last year he only hit .225 and Ops .528 compared to .262 avg OPS of .658. at AAA. His fielding capability is why he is in the ML turning 29 double plays and only making 2 errors, last season.
The left side of the infield is a mirror image of the right side with a little less power. Mark Webber at third base and Santiago Gomez at SS have the range not to let many balls make it out of the infield. However, don’t look for outstanding number at the plate with these two.
C Pedro Gamez and DH William McLntyre round off the offence at the plate. Last season they combined to generate dismal numbers with a total of 117 hits, 8 home runs, 42 runs and 122 strike outs. This season the only way is up for them. The Mounties need them to both come through at the plate.
Starting Rotation
Mounties starting rotation is very young and only has a few years’ experience in the majors. All of them are under the age of 27. Li Beggs, Ramon Farias, Chester Kipling, Mohammed Gabriel and Jason Johnson are looking be the starters for the start of the season and they will have many up and down games. Last season, the 5 combined for a total of 42 starts, pitching a total of 349 innings. All I see is a lot of upside for these players in a few years.
Pen
The bullpen is just a little older than the starting rotation with all of them under the age of 30. The only player with more than 30 innings pitched last season is Edward Kish with a total of 52 in 17 games and an ERA of 5.54. Fans shouldn’t see many home runs from this staff.
The 2024 season prediction for Mounties is a 4th place finish and wining about 65 games at the most.

As well as your team is going to play, you might as well be anonymous.
