More than a little, but I picked the right guy.

Just not happy.
Redmon has red flags all over. Throws 101 mph but no fastball. 1/6 MOV w/ cutter and slider being top pitches. He's young but that's got to fill out.

Stone should easily fill his POT but he's got that pesky 5/8 changeup that, for some reason, never develops in this game. There are so many excellent & great BBA pitchers that have a half-developed changeup dangling out there.
Stone is selectable because he doesn't need his changeup to be effective.
Yeah, but Stone, like every pitcher in the game, will insist on using that 5/8 changeup in the worst situations. An ML pitching coach should tell them at some point to develop it or drop it.

If ammys were evaluated solely on best mustaches and best uniforms, Joseph 'Jo Mama' Mother would have been #1 overall.

I was hoping to grab him at #19 but no, @jiminyhopkins beat me to the mother with the 18th pick.

I wanted him strictly for his name. I didn’t see him in the custom Ammy thread.

The level of hitting talent in these drafts is just woeful. I don't know what it's supposed to be correcting for (as far as balancing talent). Is there a super-surplus of hitting talent in the league right now?
If we'd switch back to relative ratings it wouldn't look so ridiculous
Yes Please!

But it also wouldn't be any less ridiculous.

I think the "ridiculous" part comes from seeing all the hitters be "8 or 9" contact when "5" should be closer to average. Relative ratings would bring those numbers closer to 5(I realize it wasn't right at 5) so that the front screen users(myself and most of the league) think a 7 is above average instead of a 7 being a horrible player.

It also makes managing the minor leagues a bit easier so that I can see my players "ratings" compared to ratings of other players at each league level.

I suppose it might do some of the work for us. But there's still high 5s and low 5s, and the high 5s might be a normal 8 and the low 5s might be a normal 7, for example, but we wouldn't know the difference.

Besides, it wouldn't make the players in the draft better (which was kind of my point).

Forgive me if these questions have already been asked and answered: It certainly seems as though by their drafting, GMs in the league think there has been much more pitching talent than hitting talent in these last few drafts. Is this a normal thing? Is it an illusion based on the ratings change, or will we be an extremely low-offense league in ten or so seasons?

Sometimes the headlines just write themselves.

On a side note, I would totally pay infinite PPT if he could keep that uniform no matter where he plays, for his entire career.

Clearly, his uniform number will be 69.

Or 64, he is just 5'4''.

That's reserved for AC's pick, Earl Cox.

LOL. Oh yeah I forgot that little tidbit about him. Wonder how much that affects his fielding at 1B.

Any relation to Mike Cox?

I know I’m new to the BBA, but I’m finding it difficult to tell what’s a good player in the league pitching wise when it seems like a large portion of the pitchers are 8-8-8 guys or something similar. This has me question if the pitching around the league is that good and the hitters that bad or something else.

In the next few days(probably Friday) I will run a report that takes all SP who have started atleast 3 games in the BBA so far this season, and get averages to post on Stuff, control,, and movement.

Both draft articles should be up at latest Tuesday. My brain has decided to turn back on with a flurry of activity after an extraordinary long school year. If I don't publish those it's because I'm off winning the Nobel Prize for solving nuclear fusion.

Always look forward to these. Top quality work every year, despite what Otto Pyck, Manuel Pyck, and Schyt E. Pyck might say!
