2024-25, EBA Rights Draft (Rule 6)

Post by recte44 » Sun Jan 10, 2016 11:05 am

DRAFT OPEN NOW. A little different this year as there will not be live drafting with time frames, but rather all drafting will be via lists. PM me with a list. Deadline is post sim tomorrow.
Off Topic
The EBA Player Rights Draft (Rule 6 Draft) takes place after the MBBA championship series and consists of one round. It uses the same draft order as the upcoming Amateur Draft. Each MBBA team will be allowed (but not required) to draft the rights to one active EBA player, with the following stipulations:

· Player must have at least 4 years of EBA Major League service time OR be a former MBBA player with any amount of MBBA Major League experience

· The draft selection will cost the drafting team 10PP

Each player selected in this draft enters the upcoming MBBA free agent pool. As such, any MBBA team may sign any of these players. However, the team that drafted a player in the EBA Player Rights Draft retains the rights to accept said player on his team, along with the exact contract that he signed as a free agent. As such, once a contract has been finalized with a player selected in the EBA Player Rights Draft (assuming by some other team than his drafting one), his drafting GM will be notified by the League Director and will be given 48 hours to state whether he will exercise his right to the player and have him join his team under the contract terms. If he declines to exercise his rights to the player, or does not give an answer within the 48 hours, the player is retained by the team that signed him.

Will the picks begin Tuesday? Just wanting to figure out the time line so I don't get busy and miss my pick. Typically there is a timeline posted when picks are due.

Losing out on the drafting rights to Salazar bothers me more than anything about giving Yellow Springs the #1 pick with Avery's tanking.

Before I traded for Kal El I was going to have 45M to bid on Salazar (and planned to), but I got some insider info that 40M in year 1 was going to get blown out of the water so I let the dream die. That bidding war is going to be... interesting. Too bad most of it will be done behind the scenes - could you imagine a forum back and forth bid? Lol.

Btw, Carl, hell of a pick with Cirolli. He might end up being the 3rd or 4th best player taken in this draft at the end of the day.

Yeah....psyched to get him. I needed a replacement catcher with Timmy Tim going, and hopefully Cirolli's's the guy.

Madison and Vancouver enter next season with only about 30 million in salaries. California has 79.6 projected for next season. Enjoy your Landis! Not sure you can keep up in the Savage bidding war. haha
