After sweeping Vancouver, Seattle split a four game set with divisional rival Long Beach.
Game One: The series did not begin very well, as Seattle lost to the Surfers by the score of 11-8. Dennis Tolbert got the start and he did not make it out of the third inning; he allowed 8 hits and 5 runs, 4 of which were earned. Felix Ramirez came on in relief and he was equally unproductive, as he only went one inning and gave up four runs. Although the Storm mounted a late comeback, it wasn't enough. On offense, the Storm were led by Keith Moss, Phan Ta and Ivan Salas, who each had two hits. Shawn McClure and Jose Munoz each went deep for Seattle as well.
Game Two: The Storm evened the series at one as they beat the Storm by the score of 10-9. Esteban Benitez got the win, although he didn't pitch spectacularly; he gave up 5 runs in 5 2/3 innings, but he did strike out 8. Herbert Coolen did his best to relinquish the lead, giving up 3 runs in 2 innings, but it wasn't to be. Paul Hogan gave up a run in the 9th but got the save. Dave May was the offensive star of the game, as he had 4 hits in 5 at bats, including a home run. Miguel Garcia also went deep, and he had 2 hits, as did Austin Gibson, Josh Tyler and Jose Munoz.
Game Three: The Storm jumped out to an 8-0 lead and coasted to a 9-3 victory. Phan Ta, Trey Williams, and Jose Munoz each had two hits, and Ta had 4 RBIs. Morgan Ackerman started and pitched very well; he went 7 1/3 innings and gave up 2 earned runs while striking out 7.
Game Four: The Storm were unable to win the series' final game, as they lost 7-6 in ten innings. Domingo Beccera got the start, and he did not pitch well at all; he didn't make it out of the 2nd inning. Felix Ramirez came in and did an excellent job of long-relief, which led to the Storm entering the 9th inning with a lead. Unfortunately for Seattle, however, normally reliable Paul Hogan could not finish the job; he gave up a home run to blow the save, and then he gave up the go-ahead run in the 10th. Tipper Kengos led the way for Seattle's offense with 3 hits, while Phan Ta and Trey Williams each added two.
