Chasing The Storm 7-21-12

Post by njherdfan » Tue Sep 24, 2013 2:26 pm

At the season's all-star break, the Seattle Storm are in a very good place; GM Nathan Eagan and the team's fans seem to be in agreement that things are looking up for the Storm, and that good things might be in store for the rest of the season. What's interesting about the Storm, aside from their fantastically witty and hilarious General Manager, is the way in which the Storm have been winning. During last week's all-star game, only one member of the Storm was present. There is no question that Trey Williams is a superstar who deserved to start, but it is notable that there were very few complaints that Seattle was under-represented.

In fact, very few of Seattle's regulars have been spectacular this season. Despite their lack of "flash," however, Seattle's offense very well might be the best in the league, as every member of the team's offense has performed at a high level this season. The lineup contains a number of hitters who have great patience at the plate, and pitchers around the league report that facing Seattle's offense is a chore; there are no easy outs in the lineup. As long as this productivity continues, expect Seattle to continue to thrive, and hopefully lock up first place in the Frick League Pacific Division before the season ends. Of course, all of this speculation proceeds under the assumption that Seattle's pitching will hold up, but that is an assumption that we can discuss at a later date...

I do love the offense in Seattle, you are doing great on that front.
