Gamble Comes to End

To make matters "worse" the team will agree to pay half of Cox's remaining contractor, technically half of their half, since Charlotte was already paying the first 50% of his deal.
"I always hate to see any Cox leaving the clubhouse," said manger Kate Fiscus. "But this is a stiff business, and sometimes you have to let your Cox go."
So ends the big gamble that the Krill took by taking the centerfielder's contract from the Flyers to begin with. While still fielding at an above average level, Cox's bat was not up to the task, posting a .219/.247/.349 slash in 446 plate appearances. The veteran is expected to provide clubhouse leadership to a young Mountie team that is pressing on into the SPET. "I'm looking forward to getting a fourth ring," Cox was said to mutter as he cleared out his locker.
Given the prospect Ramon Sanz is currently on the Pasco minor league Injured list, no one is really sure who will fill Cox's position for the rest of the year. Some are suggesting that Glen Branham will be given a month to try out for the position in 2063, but the general thought is that this would be a bad idea. Of course, the fact that Cox had been starting all season suggests there may not be any good ideas at this point.
"We'll figure it out," Fiscus said.
