"She made it on her own," pop star says of daughter

MANNING SINGS HER LATEST HIT "BRING DOWN THE HOUSE" DURING LAST NIGHT'S LONDON CONCERT
October 30, 2061 | Moscow | Longtime international pop-star Mikki Manning took time off her busy "Let's Get Together" tour to sit for an interview yesterday, and perhaps naturally, the topic of her daughter, Marie Manning, recently taking a job with the Bikini Krill's front office came up. Specifically came the question of whether she had made a few calls to get her daughter the inside position on the post.
"Not at all," Manning said. "And to be honest, I'm tired of the insinuation that a hard-working professional woman needs a leg-up from her mom to make something of herself. Marie was already an award-winning journalist. She's obviously been around baseball her whole life. She's talented and creative. Why do you think she couldn't attract a job offer without my help?"

AAAManning later went on to ask why the interviewer hadn't asked if she or her husband, Hall of Famer Lucas McNeill had made calls to help her sons, Sammy McNeill or Lucas "Luke Cage" McNeill, Jr. find spots in the baseball organizations they are currently with.
"It's 2061, people," Manning said. "Get with the program."
She also addressed suggestions that initial questions about her daughter's qualifications came from somewhere in the offices of the Nashville Bluebirds.
"Not surprising," she said. "They aren't alone, of course, but those guys have always had some kind of complex about the McNeill-Mannings. Maybe it's because we're all pretty good at what we set out to do. I don't think that's particularly healthy, but what can you do?"
She will play three shows in Russia before the tour moves on to France and Spain before culminating in a two-day set in Morocco.
"I love the road," she said. "But Luke and I will be happy to get back home again."
