December 1, 2058: Forever Land – With a franchise as storied as the one that the Bikini Krill is based on, it’s hard to have a season big enough to actually hit the Top 10 leaderboards, but the tilt that first baseman Mike McClure had in 2058 managed to hit the bill.

McClure went to the plate 667 times last year, and (in addition to clubbing 36 doubles and team-leading 30 homers), struck out 183 times. A mark that led the league, as well as registers as the #6 “worst” performance in franchise history. While the power numbers looked good, his .234/.312/.445 slash numbers overall represented a considerable fall off fromhis 31-game stint the season before. We’re sure that both McClure and the front office are hoping for a serious return to form in 2059, lest the switch-hitter’s career come to a screeching halt.
His teammates weren’t so pragmatic.
When the learned of the achievement’s rank, they pooled their dimes together and bought the slugger a nice big box fan, which they installed directly over his clubhouse locker alongside a posterized image of McClure walking back to the dugout. Which they then posted across the Internet—an image that became an instant meme.
“The guys are cute,” McClure said of the sensation. “You’ve got to give them that.”
