Team to Honor Veterans Hanging Them Up

September 23, 2058: Forever Land – “Tomorrow the Bikini Krill will be honoring three veterans who thrilled our AAA fans all year,” said VP of Community Outreach Monica Green in a full statement. Pepe Madrid, Ernesto Delgado, and Yorikane Miyamoto might have each made their marks on baseball in other organizations, but the beauty of being Earth’s Team is that fans from everywhere can join in the celebration we’ll be having to note that they all ended their careers with our very own Pasco Platypuses.”

All three will attend the Krill’s game on Tuesday in which they will face the Hawaii Tropics with a possible postseason entry on the line.

“It should be a great day for a ballgame,” Green said. “As they all are.”

Miyamoto and Delgado joined the Krill organization, signing minor league deals in May of this year. Madrid joined the AAA club August of 2057, and had a brief spin in Des Moines after being claimed in Rule 5. He was returned shortly thereafter and finished his time in Pasco.

“I was glad to come back, to be honest,” Madrid said, shrugging. “Those guys think there’s some kind of water shortage going on. But haven’t they been to Long Beach? Thos guys got water coming out their ears.”

Fans around the globe paused at the news that the three were leaving, but Green was quick to note that fans could still pick up special Bikini jerseys with their hero’s names stitched on them. “The Madrid version in particular is going like hotcakes,” she said. “You should probably get yours before we run out of stock.”

Bikini GM Ron Collins was happy to give these three a day on the Atoll. “I’m so happy to be able to thank these guys for showing up and getting our fans going. It made the world of difference. I just wish we could have found a way to get them some reps in the big leagues again.”
