Still Living the Dream?
August 22, 2058: Hawaii – An earlier edition of the Daily Krill spent time enjoying the dreamlike season of one Craig Ablett, a guy who is living out the unlikely events of a guy who suddenly finds himself playing center field for a BBA level team and clubbing homers right and left—which he did in two successive days.
Run time forward a month or two, and he’s done it again.
Ablett led the Krill to a 4-1 victory over the Hawaii Tropics today, opening the scoring with a 2-run blast in the 5th inning and adding a solo shot in the 8th. The blasts were his 13th and 14th of the year since being added to the roster back in June. It’s enough that, when combined with a +2.3 ZR defensive performance in center that adds up to 1.2 WAR, one can forgive a batting average that has hovered in the whereabouts of .200.
“I’m just having a great time trying to do what I can do,” Ablett said.
