Third Member of the Kiddie OF Corps to be Called Up

July 29, 2058: Forever Land – The unpleasant fact of the matter is that it appears that youthful 23-year-old Graham Aubry is going to be one of those unfortunate souls who simply cannot stay on the field, no matter how exciting he might be. After posting 290 plant appearances and two earlier injuries already this year, Aubry broke his elbow sliding into second base this week, thereby ending his season at 2.2 WAR.

“It’s a shame,” said 22-year-old outfielder [url-https://statspl.us/brewster/reports/new ... 70843.html]Tony Muniyga[/url], who was initially called up to replace Aubry in his first IL stint, and hit so well he stuck around. Munyiga’s .361/.290/.571 slash has been a breath of fresh air for a Krill offense that has been soaring. "It's been fun to have the two of us together, pushing each other to get better. It was great to have him here to talk with when I first came up."

Between the pair, Aubry and Munyiga had begun to raise some eyebrows. Both are slashing left-handed hitters who make good contact and can show occasional pop. They were looking like the future of the Bikini outfield.

The Aubry injury brings up Zorya Maidykov, the third of a kind that the Krill system has yielded. He’s another left—handed outfielder who makes contact and can show occasional pop. “Offensively we think he’ll do the job,” said newly hired hitting coach Frank Thomas. “But we’ll have to see what the glove is like. He’s still pretty raw. The intention was to leave him in Pasco all year, but life has a way of telling you your plan was wrong.” Maidykov, who turned 21 in April, was apparently soft-shopped to other teams in the recent past, but found no takers. He hit .333/.395/.527 in AA Kamloops to start the season, adding in 11 homers before being promoted to AAA in Pasco, where he’s slashing .335/.399/.417 and has clubbed a pair of homers. Anything close to those numbers on the Atoll will help the cause.

“Outfield is really the strength of the team’s system,” said Forever Land Sports Broadcasting voice Misty Morgan. “So it’s an area they’ve been able to patch up. I think the’s kind of the end of the pipeline. For now anyway. The team has other interesting guys deeper in the system who might make a difference in a few years, but the AAA level is about tapped out at this point.” Still, it’s an exciting set of young hitters to be able to swap in and out as needs fit.

Maidykov will arrive in Sacramento this afternoon, where the Krill are facing the Pacific division front-running Mad Popes.
