Merry Christmas to Bikini! Veteran Reliver Joins Krill
January 1, 2057: Forever Land – Earlier today, Bikini Krill Assistant GM Dustin Zuniga stepped up to the press conference podium and said: “It’s my pleasure to tell everyone today that, come opening day at Forever Park, longtime superstar Jorge Rodriguez will be inducted into the Bikini Krill/Seattle Storm Hall of Fame.”
The announcement follows last year’s induction of Juan Escobar, and seemed only fitting as the pair of sluggers ran rampant over the league as teammates for several seasons. Both Escobar and Rodriguez are in the BBA Hall of fame, but in an odd piece of fate, while the franchise had retired both players’ numbers, they had not been included them in their Hall of Fame. “Today that changes,” Zuniga said.
Rodriguez belted 505 homers in his long career, and hit .293/.350/.518.
The team has offered Escobar the opportunity to speak at the induction ceremony, which will be held at home plate before the Krill’s first game at Forever Park.
